Hill's Prescription Diet: a/d with Chicken Wet Dog/Cat Food
Hill's Prescription Diet a/d with Chicken is a clinically tested wet food formulated for dogs and cats recovering from surgery, illness, or injury. Its smooth, moist texture can be easily administered by hand, bowl, spoon, syringe, or feeding tube, making it ideal for critical care situations.
How it works:
- During recovery, the metabolism of dogs and cats can change significantly. Under stress, the pet's natural defenses are weakened, making proper nutrition essential for recovery.
- For animals with gastrointestinal disturbances, a 3-day transition protocol is recommended: Day 1: 1/3 of daily caloric intake diluted with 2/3 water; Day 2: 2/3 of daily caloric intake diluted with 1/3 water; Day 3: Full daily caloric amount.
- Daily intake should be divided into 3–6 smaller meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects (1 can = 150 ml).
Key Benefits:
- High-quality, highly digestible protein and fat to meet increased energy demands during recovery.
- Elevated antioxidants clinically proven to support the immune system and reduce oxidative stress.
- Increased levels of B vitamins and zinc to help restore skin recovery and natural body defenses.
- Added potassium to help reduce nutrient losses during illness.
- Highly palatable chicken flavor to stimulate appetite in sick pets and encourage early voluntary feeding.
- Smooth, moist, gel-to-liquid texture for easy administration via hand, bowl, spoon, syringe, or feeding tube.
